Scripture: Galatians 5:1-6 (NIV) 1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. 2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. 4 You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Observation: Christ set us free so we could LIVE IN FREEDOM! We should live our live in that freedom. It is interesting that so many let themselves be bound again by tradition, temptation, or trials. As we live in freedom we are living in Christ. Jesus intends for us to live in freedom from sin or anything that would try to encumber us and inhibit our free will service and obedience to God. Too many have been free then went back in to the same bondage or some worse bondage. Application: I AM FREE!! Free from sin, free from the penalty of sin, and free to serve who I will. I choose to place myself in bondage to Jesus Christ and refuse any other claim. I will no longer be bound by convention, condition, tradition, expectation, or sin, I choose to remain FREE in Christ Jesus. Prayer: My Father, I thank you for you love for me and I thank you that you have set me free through my Saviour Jesus Christ. I pray you will help me avoid all te traps of the evil one and all the seductions of the world so that I will remain free. I choose Lord to place myself in your care and in your service only. I pray that YOUR FREEDOM will flow throughout my life and help me to cause others to seek your freedom. Thank you Lord for the wonderful freedom that you have allowed me to live in for so many years. May you always be exalted among us!!
